What music have you been buying?

The track you’re thinking of is not on that album. It’s this.

Re-released in 2015 but I just caught on….

Soul/funk groover

Deadly African dancehall vibes

Simple and effective heads down house music from legends in the field:

Moody deep house with a bit of a “cure & the cause” vibe….

Really liking this dubby nu-disco cut remixed by the Major…

So, that’s another addition to the ‘wants’ list! :+1:

Also, Discogs tells me that it’s Patrice Rushen on synths…

Btw, I’m really liking a lot of the new stuff being posted on this thread.

Apologies for keeping it real/regressive, but I still buy vinyl so miss out on a lot of good new shit, y’know?

Found this in a local charity yesterday. Synths and arrangement by Vangelis.

I already have the track on an album, never knew it was on 7" (sorry, don’t know what 7" converts into in ‘digital’ :person_shrugging:)

Edit: it’s a Harvey spin, natch

Some recent additions to Bandcamp addiction:

Picked up this 2x7” of mostly the best tracks from the classic rare groove album by 100% Pure Poison. The OG album is completely unaffordable (last one I saw was >£300), and there were some mastering issues with one of the recent reissues, so this is a good way of getting the best tracks. It’s a good pressing too.

This one has been comped loads of times

Glad to see a few 7” around. They do have some special appeal.

I also have all of those! Solid selections

That Vangelis sounds really fresh having only ever heard the later Demis version :+1:

Just tried looking on Discogs to see if I could find a cheap copy… Ouch!! :grimacing:

Found this Jonny Greenwood OST sampler in a charity shop for £1. I never bothered to listen to much Radiohead, I know that Greenwood’s soundtrack work has been well received, so thought I’d give it a try. It’s a limited edition too.

A very interesting listen - several pieces in a modern classical style, plus one cover of what I think it’s a Radiohead track (almost like a cross between Can, the Doors, and early Pink Floyd).

Interesting guitar on this one

This is (I think) the Radiohead track. Vox by Joanna Newsom - not keen on her singing voice, but this is spoken)

Love it.
Thank you for Sharing.

Lovely uptempo but dubby house

More Athens of the North goodness

Piers Harrison’s label regularly knocking it out of the park. The Apiento mixes are great too
