Save A Prayer is an all time fave of mine from that era

On a lot of early Larry Heard tracks he used the arrpegiator on his Roland Juno 6 for basslines, but with the notes triggered with a signal from a drum machine, so it wasn’t just pulsing on the clock.

But then on some, like Distant Planet, he played the bassline live the whole way through. That’s dedication.
