Heaviest funky rock bangers

Bought this on 7" recently…

Yep he did a good 4-to-the-floor, Phil.

I just bought their album because of Boogie Man, which is also a great tune.

I was going to say I’d never heard a Duane Allman version of Walk On Guilded Splinters before but it appears to be the same version I have on this Johnny Jenkins LP.

Here are couple of Ultimate Breaks and Beats classics that I’ve still neve tired of not matter how many time I hear them:

Thats nuts.

Given Duane has it on his anthology album I guess he had a hand in writing it(?) - he is credited as the producer (and guitar player) on Johnny Jenkins album.

Dr John wrote it. The original is on here:

The covers by Marsha Hunt and Cher are also worth checking.

Another cover that Harvey has used for inspiration….

I remember listening to this thinking I could make it work. That electronic/synth sound at the break takes it to another level. I’d try this too. Harmonica keeps it a bit more bluesy.

Thanks for posting. It’s been too long since I listened to Sabbath. Man, I love that band!

The most Balearic prog record ever?

I read an Allmusic review that referred to this as a “downright vicious funk groove.” Sold me.

Nice choice Bill.
Maybe a bit more blissed-out and soundtracky vibe wise, but Id say this was a contender…

Noice. I’m partial to a bit of Sweet Emotion, but feel it at times nudges slightly too far rock-wards for legitimate inclusion here.
